Loyola’s Cinderella Story Continues With Win Over Nevada

The Blackhawks lose again, Bo Horvat scored his twentieth goal of the season as well as added an assist for the Canucks beating Chicago 5-2. Alexander Elder scored twice, Jacob Markstrom had 39 saves in net for Vancouver. Matthew Highmore and Nick Schmaltz scored the goals for Chicago. It was a tough night for J F Berube, he was in net for Chicago, he had fourteen saves in eighteen shots. The Blackhawks visit the Islanders tomorrow.


The Bulls say that Antonio Blakeney will miss the remainder of the season. He’s suffering from a broken bone in his left wrist, this happened during the loss to the Knicks on Monday.


The Bears have resigned linebacker John Timu to a one year deal. He has nine starts and fifty three tackles in three seasons with the team.


Loyola Chicago continued their cinderella run through the NCAA tournament when they beat tenth seed Nevada 69-68. Chicago has an opportunity to go to the Final Four, they face K State tomorrow in Atlanta.

Bears Release Players Looking At Roster Improvement

The Chicago Bears have officially agreed to deals with linebacker Sam Acho and cornerback Prince Amukamara. Quarterback Mike Glennon, receiver Markus Wheaton, and defensive back Marcus Cooper all released on Wednesday. Meanwhile quarterback Chase Daniel let everyone know that he has joined the roster.


Kyle Schwarber has a new contract with the Chicago Cubs. It’s a 604,000 dollar one year deal.


The Blackhawks are back at it tomorrow. They’re playing a back to back homeset before embarking on a road trip. They are visiting the Winnipeg Jets tonight then on Saturday they face the Sabres.


Blackhawks Begin Three Game Road Trip Tonight

The Chicago Bears plan to part ways with quarterback Mike Glennon. General Manager Ryan Pace said that they will release him rather than bring him back for a second season after he lost his starting position to Mike Trubisky. Running back Matt Forte announced his retirement after playing ten NFL seasons which he mostly played with the Bears.


The Bulls are getting back to action tomorrow against the Mavericks after coming off of Tuesday’s 118-103 loss to the Charlotte Hornets. Chicago has won just two times in the past 8 games and have dropped five in a row.


The Blackhawks open up a three game road trip on the west coast tonight when they visit the San Jose Sharks. Jean-Francois Berube will be in the net for Chicago tonight. The Blackhawks will also visit the Kings and Ducks before returning home on Tuesday.

Bulls Make Trade With Pelicans

The Chicago Bulls have traded Nikola Mirotic to the Pelicans in return for Omer Asik. The deal comes a week after DeMarcus Cousins of New Orleans, injured his achilles. Mirotic averaged 17 points a game and also had locker room troubles at the beginning of the season with Bobby Portis.


The Chicago Bears guard Kyle Long indicated on twitter that he has completed his final off season surgery. He posted that he is on the mend and his hopeful for a return.


The Vancouver Canucks beat the Blackhawks last night 4-2. Chicago is visiting the Calgary Flames tomorrow evening.

Blackhawks Improve Standings With 8-2 Victory Over Senators

Blackhawks had an 8-2 victory last night against the Senators. Nick Schmaltz and Jonathan Toews each had a pair of goals. Patrick Kane had a goal and 4 assists. Richard Panik, Patrick Sharp, and Jan Rutta also had goals and at goalie was Anton Forsberg with 25 saves in net. Chicago will host the Wild tonight.


The Bulls visit the Knicks tonight. Chicago has lost two in a row and six out of their last ten games. The Knicks aren’t doing much better with losing seven out of their recent ten games.


New Bears coach Matt Nagy says he is here for the entire Bears organization not just to develop Mitch Trubisky. Chicago is looking forward to next season.

Matt Nagy Named New Head Coach For Bears

The Chicago Bears have hired Matt Nagy as their new head coach. He spent last season as the Chiefs offensive coordinator and has been working under Andy Reid for the past ten years in both Philadelphia and Kansas City. Nagy received praise for his measuring of quarterback Alex Smith, he’ll have the task of developing Mitch Trubisky in Chicago.


Eric Gordon and Chris Paul each had 24 points and 9 assists, Gerald Green had 22 points for the Rockets as they beat the Bulls 116-107 Monday night. Bobby Portis lead Chicago with 22 points. Denzel Valentine and Kris Dunn each had 19 points but Chicago lost for the fifth time in six games.


The Blackhawks visit the Senators tonight. Chicago is last in the NHL central division but just 11 points off leader Winnipeg. Ottawa has won two in a row and the Blackhawks are coming off of a 4-1 victory over the Oilers


Alabama beat Georgia 26-23 in overtime last night to win their fifth national championship since 2009 under Nick Saban. The Crimson Tide rolled back from a 13 point halftime deficit.

Forsberg Had 32 Saves As Blackhawks beat Oilers 4-1

Anton Forsberg made 32 stops, Nick Schmaltz and Alan Debrincat scored in the first period. The Blackhawks beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-1 improving Chicago to 20-15-6. This was their first home win since defeating the Minnesota Wild 4-1 back December 17.


The Bears are interviewing Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy for the head coaching position. Nagy spent ten seasons under Andy Reid in Philadelphia and Kansas City. The Chiefs won the AFC West only to blow an eighteen point halftime lead in a playoff loss to Tennessee on Saturday. Chicago has also spoken with Philadelphia’s quarterback coach John DeFilippo, Minnesota and New England offensive coordinators Pat Shurmur and Josh McDaniels as well Vikings defense coordinator George Edwards.

Bulls Look Like Magic In Win Over Orlando

Bears and Browns face off this Sunday. Cleveland is looking to prevent a winless season. DeShone Kizer will be the starting quarterback for the Browns. As for Chicago linebacker Pernell McPhee has been placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury that will end his season.

Denzel Valentine had 16 points and 10 rebounds, Nikola Mirotic had 15 points in the Bulls seventh straight win, they beat the Magic 112-94. This winning streak started when Mirotic returned from his injuries on December 8th and matches their longest winning streak in three years.

Blackhawks are looking to continue their five game winning streak tonight in Dallas when they take on the Stars.

Bulls Face The Magic Without Full Roster

Bears guard Kyle Long posted a picture of himself on Twitter wearing a neck brace at the hospital late Tuesday night after having neck surgery to alleviate pain. Chicago takes on the Browns this Sunday. Cleveland is looking not to have an 0-16 season. The 4-10 Bears are 2-5 at Soldier Field.

The Bulls announced they have waived guard Kay Felder. Chicago is home tonight against the Orlando Magic. Bulls have won six in a row and are now 9-20 on the season. The 11-20 Magic are on a five game skid.

Richard Panik might be back in the lineup tomorrow when the Blackhawks face Dallas. Panik hasn’t scored a goal in 21 games and is eager to get back into the rink. Chicago is tied with the Wild and the Stars with 39 points in the central division, all just 7 points away from leaders Nashville and St. Louis.

Blackhawks Hike Through The Wild


Two touchdown passes and no turnovers for Matt Stafford as the Lions beat the Bears 20-10 on Saturday night. The Bears have lost six of seven sealing a third season in a row with double digit losses under John Fox’s leadership. Mitch Trubisky had a season high with 31 completions, 46 attempts with 314 yards yet had three interceptions.

Patrick Kane had a pair of goals and Corey Crawford had 27 saves as Chicago beat the Minnesota Wild 4-1. It was the Blackhawks fifth consecutive win. Ryan Hartman also had a goal breaking a 17 game drought dating back to October 28th. Tommy Wingels had a gaol with a short handed empty netter.

Bulls are home tonight against the 76ers. Chicago is now 8-20 on the season, they’ve won five games in a row.
