P.O.D.’s New Album Shrouded In Mystery

P.O.D. dropped their new album The Awakening last Friday (Aug. 21st) but their keeping their mouths shut about the concept of the album.

In a recent interview with The Point, bassist Traa Daniels explains, “There is a specific storyline, but I think the whole thing is that we don’t want to kind of let that cat out of the bag. I think that we really want people to like dig into the record and kind of figure it out. I mean, I think that’s the fun part of having a conceptual record is not really giving away the whole thing, you know what I’m saying? There definitely is a character and there’s a specific storyline that, you know, was the inspiration for the songs and the writing and everything.”

Disturbed Drops New Album ‘Immortalized’

It’s been a long hiatus for Disturbed. Today marks their first album drop since 2010. Immortalized hit shelves and Amazon today.

In a recent interview Dan Dongen told 105.7 The Point, “It was, I guess, a tricky decision to make because we still felt like we were still climbing the ladder and at the height of our career. So to be able to shut it down and walk away from it might be a bit of a gutsy movie, but it just felt right. It felt like, you know, maybe it’s time that we don’t become the house band on the summer tour and we don’t become predictable. It just felt like maybe we should just walk away for a minute.”

We’re glad to they’re back!

Dave Grohl Admits He Has Social Anxiety

Foo Fighter‘s front man Dave Grohl recently admitted to having social anxiety about attending the upcoming Emmy Award Ceremony.

In a interview with Gold Derby, Grohl justified his nervousness saying, “It’s just going to be such a crazy night, I just can’t imagine. I think I’ll feel like that kid who is the new kid at school, the first day at school. I’ll probably just sit down, with my back up against the wall, just nervous, and waiting to see who is going to want to talk to me. I have a little bit of social anxiety. It might seem hard to imagine, but in rooms like that, I kind of clam up. I mean put me at the f**king Grammys, and I know everybody there, and I’ve got a bottle of whiskey in my hands the whole time, but we’ll see what happens.”

The Foo Fighters have their Sonic Highways album nominated for Outstanding Informational Series, Outstanding Directing, Outstanding Sound Mixing and Outstanding Sound Editing.

Fingers crossed that they win! Check out the interview with Gold Derby  below.
