36 of 39 People Killed in November was due to Gun Violence

Authorities say November’s homicide total is up to 39 as of Thursday evening. 36 of the 39 people killed were the victims of a shooting. So far this week five people have been shot and killed bringing the 2017 total to 632 with over 2700 others injured by gunfire.

More than a dozen groups and lawmakers who oppose abortion have filed a lawsuit challenging a new law providing taxpayer funded abortion. Groups say including abortion among procedures covered by state employed health insurance and Medicaid starting in January is illegal.

A man is going to prison for not registering as a sex offender when he moved to Aurora. 62-year-old Keith Willis was sentenced earlier this week to five years behind bars after he was convicted in September. He had to register after a 1990 sexual assault conviction in Cook County.
