Marquis Banks has been identified as the latest victim of Gun Violence

Police have identified the victim of a deadly shooting in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood. 28-year-old Marquis Banks was shot to death Sunday evening. 35 people have been shot to death in Chicago in November, bringing the homicide total to 631 for the year.

Governor Rauner says a $60 billion package to provide health care to millions of low income Illinois residents will save a billion dollars over current expenses. Critics are deriding it as a “stealth deal” that they say is costing more than expected.

Naperville police investigate an armed robbery Tuesday night. Police were called to a 7-11 on Diehl and Route 59 targeted by two suspects that got away on foot after taking an undisclosed amount of money. They’re still at large. Call Naperville police or Crimestoppers if you know anything.

Bears Acquire Lamarr Houston Off Of Waivers

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo will make his first start of the season when he leads the 49ers against the Bears this Sunday. Chicago is 3-8 this season and are trying to snap a four game losing skid. San Francisco is 1-10 this season and are winless on the road. The Bears are bringing back linebacker Lamarr Houston claiming him off waivers from the Texans.

The Chicago Bulls are in Denver tonight. The Bulls are 3-16 this season they’ve dropped 6 in a row. Nikola Mirotic says that his facial fractures have completely healed from his fight with Bobby Portis in the preseason. However he has been ruled out in tonight’s game against the Nuggets and Friday’s match up against Sacramento.

The 12-8-3 Blackhawks face the Dallas Stars tonight at the United Center.

630 Homicides in 2017, 581 Gun Related

There have been 37 Chicago homicides this month and 34 have been shooting deaths. It brings the death toll for 2017 to 630, with 581 of those the result of gun violence. So far this week three people have been shot and killed, the latest in the Austin and Chicago Lawn neighborhoods.

Governor Bruce Rauner says improved detection and better scrutiny of packages in the mail will reduce the spread of fentanyl and other synthetic opioids. The governor toured the Chicago International mailing facility on Tuesday with Lt. Gov. Evelyn Sanguinetti. Illinois State Police Director Leo Schmitz also attended.

A high school teacher is accused of sexual misconduct. Jennifer Boudinot, who graduated from Downers Grove North High School in the late 90’s says she was harassed, and since then more women have contacted her saying they were either harassed or assaulted. The teacher is on leave.

What Will the Rest of This Bulls Season Look Like?

Things got chippy in Monday’s Blackhawks 7-3 victory over Anaheim at the United Center. The NHL fining rightwing Patrick Kane five thousand for slashing Anaheim’s Nick Richie.

Devon Booker scored 33 points for the Suns as Phoenix wins over the Bulls 104-99. Chicago has a league worst record with 3-16, they’ve lost six games in a row. Justin Jolliday had six 3 pointers on his way to 25 points for the Bulls. Kris Dunn had 24 points hitting all 3 point attempts he also chipped in with 8 assists. Head coach Fred Hoydberg said that Zach LeVine won’t be making his regular game debut till later in the month of December. LeVine has been out with a knee injury. Nikola Mirotic did not play last night but will be traveling with the team to Denver Thursday. He’s not been on the court since his preseason fight with Bobby Portis. He said he wants the team to choose between the two players.

Two wealthy businessmen seeking the democratic nomination for Illinois Governor released partial tax returns on Monday. J.B. Pritzker and Chris Kennedy are part of the field running against republican Governor Bruce Rauner, who is seeking a second term. They released partial returns yesterday.

Naperville police are considering possible connections in a rash of car thefts and burglaries in the past week. In all, 33 vehicles were burglarized and three were stolen with key fobs left inside. In all cases, the vehicles were unlocked.

Rookie’s Hat Trick Was the Ticket To Duck’s Defeat

Blackhawks defeated the Ducks last night. Alex DeBrincat lead Chicago to victory with a hat trick. The rookie has 9 goals, 12 points in 11 games this month. 25 saves in net for Corey Crawford as Chicago improves to 12-8-3.

The 3-14 Chicago Bulls looking to snap a 5 game slump. They’re home tonight against the Phoenix Suns. Phoenix just 7-14 on the season, they’ve dropped three in a row and have only won three of their last ten games.

No Update on Bears guard Josh Sitton who left during Sunday’s loss with a concussion. Chicago is getting ready for this Sunday’s game against the 49ers.

Daimmyon Hackman latest victim of Gun Violence

The November shooting death toll is up to 32 out of 35 total homicides. There have been 628 homicide victims in 2017 with 579 of those the result of deadly shootings. 27-year-old Daimmyon Hackman is the latest name released. He was shot to death on the southside on Black Friday.

State officials are encouraging drivers to prepare for the onset of winter. Officials are pushing the theme, “Winter Weather?Get it Together.” The State Department of Transportation has posted a safe driving video online.

Authorities have found the body of a missing Aurora man. 61-year-old Michael Ryan had been missing since November 13th. His body was recovered in the West Aurora Forest Preserve near Indian Trail and Star Grass on Saturday morning. Police say no foul play is suspected.

Eagles Soared Over Bears Sunday

Carson Wentz threw three touchdown passes to give the Eagles a 31-3 victory over the Bears Sunday for their ninth consecutive win. Philadelphia’s defense shut quarterback Mitch Trubisky and the 3-8 Bears, holding them to zero first downs in the first half and just one hundred and forty yards in the whole game. The Bears became the first not to score a first down in the first half of the game since the Chiefs against the Raiders in week fifteen in 2012. Chicago will host the 1-10 49ers this coming Sunday.

Goran Dragic with twenty four points for the Heat when they shutdown the Bulls Sunday 100-93. Chicago drops to 3-14 on the season. They’ve now lost five in a row and will host Pheonix this Tuesday.

Blackhawks are home tonight against the Anaheim Ducks. Chicago are winners of six of their last ten games. Anaheim however is trying to snap a three game losing skid. Corey Crawford helped the Blackhawks win 4-1 over Florida Saturday.

620 Homicide in Chicago for 2017

Out of 620 homicides in Chicago in 2017, 572 have been the result of gun violence. 27 homicides have been reported in November so far and all but one of them have been shooting deaths. This week 13 people have been shot with 2 dead and 11 wounded.

Nearly 2 million passengers are expected to travel through O’Hare and Midway airports during the Thanksgiving holiday. The Chicago Department of Aviation says the 2 airports will be among the busiest in the nation over the next week. Sunday is expected to be the busiest travel day at both.

Authorities say a convicted sex offender hid his abuse of children in order to fraudulently obtain citizenship. The Department of Justice says 49-year-old Eleazar Valenzuela is a registered sex offender that was naturalized in June of 2000 even though he had sexually abused a minor.

Lakers Dig Out of Fourth Quarter Deficit to Take Down Bulls

Kyle Kuzma had 22 points and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 11 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter when they dug out of a nineteen point deficit, beating the Bulls 103-94. Kris Dunn had 12 points and 6 assists in his second start of the season for Chicago which visits Utah tonight. The key acquisition in the Jimmy Butler trade is targeting a mid to late December return to lineup. Bulls guard Zach Lavigne getting the go ahead to have full contact during practice.

The Blackhawks have a tough task tonight in Tampa Bay. With a 15-3-2 record the Lightning are tied for the NHL’s most wins and goals scored. Chicago is looking to continue their two game winning streak.
